Drinking after 2.5mg of xanax?

Would It be alright If I had one drink (Gin and tonic) after I took 2.5mg of xanax over the past 14 hours? I do not feel ANY of the effects of the xanax when I take them (as In I can function just as well as when I am not taking them). I had a pretty huge ordeal yesterday and was trying to calm down, took about 5 mg of xanax last night and that did nothing to help. Took the 2.5 mgs through out the day today and still not helping with the anxiety/panic attacks. I know alcohol helps me with that so was wondering if I had one drink before I went to sleep tonight would be anything to worry about. I have a high tolerance to most drugs and alcohol.
