Me and my boyfriend tried to have but had some problems!?

A few days ago me and my boyfriend wanted to have for the first time. He had a condom which brand was Lifestyles. After a few times of trying he cuold just not get it in, we didnt know what the problem was, i suggested more lube, but he said the condom was already lubricated. Any suggestions please? i personally think his is a little too big to fit in my pin hole.
