I made some spaghette...but its so dry?

when you sail boiled it you mean you put the spag in the pan with water and turned it on or did you boil the water 1st? You're suppose to boil water 1st and then add the spag with salt and olive oil then so the sauce.... its not dry when i do it so not sure about this one....
