I received my son birth certificate with the wrong spelling?

on the back i can send it in with the corections but where i need to sign it says DO NOT NOTARIZE UNLESS SIGNED BY SUBJECT (OR PARENT(s) IF UNDER AGE 18) MUST BE SIGNED IN PRESENCE OF NOTARY..does that mean i have to have it noterized??
